On Friday, the Oneida County Sheriff’s Office held their annual awards and recognition ceremony at the New York State OHS State Preparedness Training Center. 

Highlights included Oneida County Executive Anthony Picente presenting the Official’s Medal posthumously in Honor of Deputy Kurt Wyman to deputy’s wife Lauren Wyman.  This is the first time this award has been presented to an agency member. Officials said it is awarded for achievement, courage, and high quality in carrying out a mission of the Government; and/or bringing public acclaim to the department and the community of which one serves.

A tribute was also made to members of the Sheriff's Office who passed in 2011:
