(WKTV) - Home and business owners in Oneida County whose properties sustained major damage in the flooding of 2013 can now apply for a property tax reassessment if their 2013 assessed value did not reflect the damage, Oneida County Executive Anthony Picente said.

"We can never stop natural disasters from occurring, but what we can do is prepare take take care of all those affected to the best of our ability," Picente said.

The Oneida County Legislator voted unanimously Wednesday to opt in the program.
