Oneida man accused of making child stand in scalding water

(WKTV) - An Oneida man was arrested Sunday after he is accused of making a child stand in a bathtub of scalding water, Oneida police say.

Anthony S. Montgomery, 50, of Lenox Avenue in Oneida, is charged with assault in the second degree and endangering the welfare of a child.

According to officials, Montgomery allegedly made a 3-year-old stand in a bathtub of scalding water as punishment. The child suffered second-degree burns to his feet and was taken to Upstate Burn Clinic in Syracuse for treatment.

Montgomery was sent to Madison County Jail in lieu of $20,000 cash bail or $40,000 bond.
