Oneida man charged in series of New Hartford thefts

NEW HARTFORD, N.Y. (WKTV) - An Oneida man was charged for crimes in New Hartford just as he was being released from the Onondaga County Jail.

According to New Hartford Police, Ian P. Curro, 30, of Oneida was being released from the Onondaga County Jail recently and was then charged on an active arrest warrant. According to police, Curro is accused of stealing items from a number of stores in New Hartford between December 2010 and June 2011.

He is accused of stealing:
 

  • $240 worth of jewelry from J.C. Penny in December 2010
  • More than $250 worth of video games from WalMart in January 2011
  • More than $900 worth of video games from Kohls in January 2011
  • One Musical Instrument worth $150 from Leggs Diamond in June 2011


Curro was charged with four counts of petit larceny and he was arraigned in the Town Of New Hartford Court and remanded to the Oneida County Correctional Facility in lieu of $3,000 cash bail.  

He is due back in court at a later date.
