Oneonta teen found dead at SUNY Albany


ALBANY, N.Y. (WKTV) - University Police confirm to NEWSChannel 2 that the student found dead on the SUNY Albany campus was an Oneonta resident.

Officials say 18-year-old Jared Trotti was found dead in a visitor parking lot on the campus Saturday morning.

Trotti is a 2012 graduate of Oneonta High School, according to the Oneonta Daily Star. He was currently wrapping up his first year of college at Elizabethtown College in Pennsylvania.

The circumstances of Trotti's death have not been released by police, pending autopsy results.

University Police Inspector Aran Mull tells NEWSChannel 2 that any criminal activity and suicide have both been ruled out. Mull said, "At this time, it appears to be a tragic accident."
