OTSEGO COUNTY, N.Y. - An Otsego County man is facing drug charges following a joint investigation between the Otsego County Sheriff's Office Criminal Investigation Division, Oneonta Police Department Detective Bureau and Otsego County District Attorney's SIU.

In September 2011, the Sheriff's Office Criminal Investigation Department received information that Kyle A. Ives, 21, of Schenevus was selling heroin. Authorities said the heroin was purchased on two separate occasions from Ives in the Town of Milford during that month.

In October 2011, a no-knock search warrant was obtained from the Town of Milford Court for Ives' former State Route 28 residence in Portlandville. On October 28, the Sheriff's Office and Oneonta Police Department executed the search warrant and Ives was found to be in possession of 61 glassine envelopes containing heroin valued at $1,220 and $280 in U.S. currency.

Ives was arrested that day for third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and arraigned in the Milford Court where he was released on his on recognizance.

In March 2012, Ives' cases were presented to the Otsego County Grand Jury and he was indicted on the above charges.

Ives was arrested this week by the Sheriff's Office at his residence. He was arraigned by a County Court Judge on Tuesday afternoon and sent to the Otsego County Correctional Facility on $25,000 bail.

If convicted, Ives faces up to nine years in state prison on each count.

He is scheduled to return to county court on Friday, April 6.
