(WKTV) - A Otsego County man is accused of threatening to kill a judge and is now facing a felony charge, officials say.

Brandon Joseph Empie, 29, is accused of threatening to kill Otsego County Court/Family Court Judge John F. Lambert, Otsego County Sheriff officials say.

According to the sheriff's department, information was received from several sources that Empie was threatening Lambert's life and to burn down his home.

After an investigation was conducted, Empie was arrested Tuesday at his home in Colliersville on charges of making a terroristic threat. Empie was arraigned by Town of Milford Judge Carol Rumenapp and send to the Otsego County Correctional Facility on $10,000 bail. He is scheduled to return next month to the Milford Town Court.

If convicted, Empie could face up to seven years in prison.
