Otsego County's attractions make it obvious choice for Obama visit

By WKTV News

(WKTV) - Otsego County is one of the most picturesque areas of New York State.

And it has great attractions, such as the world-class Glimmerglass Opera House, great golf, the Farmers Museum and the baseball Hall of Fame.

It's no wonder President Obama chose Cooperstown to promote U.S. tourism.

A select group of a couple hundred people were invited to listen to the president's 15-minute speech, where Obama discussed the economic benefits of tourism.

Several local business owners said they appreciate Obama coming here to kick off his campaign to boost U.S. tourism.

And with Memorial Day weekend jump-starting the tourist season, many say this was a perfect time for a presidential visit.
