BRIDGEWATER, N.Y. (WKTV) - A massive fire destroyed a vacant home in Bridgewater overnight.

It broke out at the two-story home around 11:30 p.m. Thursday night at a home on 317 State Route 8. The fire was so large that it brought several residents out of their homes in the middle of the night to watch.

Flames were so hot at one point that they caused damage to the siding on a house next door.

It took firefighters from at least five different fire departments roughly 3 1/2 hours to get the blaze under control and there is no word on a cause as of this writing.

No one was injured.
