Oxford resident cited for marijuana possession after Norwich accident

By WKTV News

(WKTV) - An accident on County Road 32 in the Town of Norwich led to a citation for an Oxford resident, Chenango County Sheriff's Deputies say.

According to officials, Sean Wahlberg was southbound in a 2002 Ford F-150 on County Road 32 at about 2:45 p.m. Monday when he was struck by a northbound 2009 Chevrolet Malibu. Wendy Thomas, 41, was driving the Chevrolet, which failed to keep right and veered into the oncoming lane, striking the front driver's side of Wahlberg's truck. The Ford F-150 then went over the guard rails and came to a rest.

Only minor injuries were reported in the accident. Upon investigation, deputies say Thomas was found to be in possession of marijuana. Thomas was issued a citation for failure to keep right and an appearance ticket for unlawful possession of marijuana.

Thomas will appear in court at a later date.
