Packy's Pub is place to be on St. Patrick's Day

WASHINGTON MILLS, N.Y. (WKTV) - Many bars in Central New York are hosting St. Patrick's Day celebrations, including at Packy's Pub in Washington Mills.

Packy's has their famous Irish chips not just on St. Patrick's Day, but all year long. It is traditionally one of the busiest places to be on March 17, no matter which day of the week it falls on.

Besides the traditional corned beef and cabbage dish, Packy's also serves up it's own Utica version called a Utica Club Melt, which includes corned beef, cabbage, Swiss cheese, bacon, lettuce and tomato on grilled rye bread.

Packy's Pub Manager Walter Scott said, "There are a bunch of Irish deserts as well, and a lot of people come here just to drink a little Guinness and drink a little Jameson Irish Whiskey, it's pretty popular."

Scott says Packy's has been extra busy all weekend long for St. Patrick's Day.
