Mayor Palmieri names Pastor Carol Jubenville first woman Chaplain for City of Utica

UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) - Utica Mayor Robert Palmieri announce the appointment of Pastor Carol Jubenville, as a Chaplain for the Utica Fire Department, Thursday.

Jubenville is the Associate Pastor of the First United Methodist Church of New Hartford, and becomes the first woman to be appointed as a Chaplain for the City of Utica.

She joins Father Joseph Salerno in serving the Utica Fire Department, who will volunteer their time to serve.

"It is my pleasure to welcome Pastor Jubenville into our family, and we thank her for her willingness to serve our community," said Mayor Palmieri, at the appointment ceremony, Thursday. "A Chaplain plays an important role in the operations of the Fire Department and I have no doubt Past Jubenville will be a tremendous asset to our fire fighters."
