Pedestrian struck in hit and run accident

ROME, N.Y. (WKTV) - The Oneida County Sheriff's Department is investigating a hit and run accident that took place in Rome late Monday night. Deputies say 20-year-old Michael Beasock was walking along Rome-Taberg Road around 11:30 pm when he was struck by a vehicle.

Beasock was treated for severe but non-life threatening injuries at St. Elizabeth Medical Center. The driver that struck Beasock took off. Officials say details about the suspect vehicle are unknown. The vehicle is missing it's passenger side mirror and it may have a broken side window as well as damage to the passenger side. Anyone with information about the accident or the suspect vehicle is asked to give the Sheriff's Department a call at 765-2734.
