Pennsylvania man sentenced in Sylvan Beach teen's death

(WKTV) - A Pennsylvania man who pleaded guilty in October to hitting and killing a 13-year-old boy on a bicycle in Sylvan Beach was sentenced to 6 to 18 years in state prison on Friday.

Gary Svecz, 54, of Forest City, Pa., will also face a three-year conditional discharge with an ignition interlock on his vehicle, and an 18-month license revocation.

Svecz pleaded guilty to aggravated vehicular homicide in October.

Svecz fatally struck 13-year-old Neil Pederson in May with his pickup truck as the boy was riding along Vienna Road. Svecz registered a 0.27 percent blood alcohol content after the accident.
