People celebrate heritage, culture in Central New York with Puerto Rico parade

UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) - The red, white, and blue of Puerto Rican pride is on display along Bleecker Street as hundreds celebrated the Puerto Rican culture with an annual parade, Sunday.
there was live music, ethnic foods and vendors.
People marched up and down the streets displaying the flag of Puerto Rico.
One participant said it was a day to spend time with family, friends and to celebrate who you are and where you came from.
"It's so important to celebrate our freedom like others have Italian parties," said Angel Rodriguez. "We're all spanish so we get together to celebrate the freedom we have."

This was one of many parades happening on Sunday to celebrate Puerto Rican heritage, including a big parade in New York City.
