Phillip Phillips headlines MVCC concert

UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) - Mohawk Valley Community College held their annual Spring Meltdown Concert and welcomed American Idol winner Phillip Phillips as their headliner.

Hundreds turned out to see the artist sing his hit "Home" among some new material.

Phillips told NEWSChannel 2, "Ever since winning Idol, non-stop, a lot going, constantly working and playing and performing and doing radio stations and tv stations. a lot of go go go. I feel very blessed where I'm at right now, do a lot of amazing things that not a lot of people get to do. I've gotten to meet a lot of great people, so it's been great."

Phillips noted the beautiful weather in Central New York. He said, "To be here in Utica, it's awesome man. It's beautiful weather, beautiful outside, nice people so far."
