Picente: Election results too slow

ONEIDA COUNTY, N.Y. (WKTV) - "Unacceptable" - that's how Oneida County Executive Anthony Picente is describing primary night in Oneida County.

Picente said he has received several complaints from voters about confusion and problems at the polls.

He said he is also upset about the fact that races Tuesday night did not have all precincts reporting, while much larger counties with much more precincts had 100 percent reporting well before midnight.

"I come in this morning and we still don't have complete data on some of these races," Picente said Wednesday. "and to say that there's nothing wrong with the process, there's clearly something wrong with the process. Whatever process is in place in this county is not working to the satisfaction of our electorate, because we would have better results."

Picente says the election commissioners sent a letter to voters on Friday explaining the primary and special election process, and that it gave out erroneous information about the process.
