Poland girls head to state final four with a big sendoff

POLAND, N.Y. (WKTV) - The Poland girls soccer team is going to the state final four for the second straight year. Friday morning the girls got to parade through the halls before they boarded a bus and headed out.

With horns blaring and the entire school cheering them on, the girls headed to to Cortland Community College for the state semifinals Saturday.

Head coach Tom Basel said, " The excitement is palpable. There is a real spirit in the air and the community rallies around both teams every year."

The Lady Tornadoes will face Eldred from Section 9. Game time is Noon Saturday.

Whichever team advances will play at 11 a.m. Sunday in the state final at Cortland State.
