MUNNSVILLE, N.Y. (WKTV) - Oneida Nation Police say they believe a man they've arrested for trespassing may have been high on the substance known as "bath salts."

Authorities say that an Oriskany Falls man (whose name was not released by authorities) was taken into custody without incident after they found him hiding in a barn of a fenced-in game preserve on East Hill Road in Munnsville. The man was turned over to the Madison County Sheriff's Department for prosecution after a medical checkup.

Oneida Nation Police investigators said the man exhibited symptoms that led them to believe he was under the influence of the synthetic drug known as "bath salts." Those symptoms include disorientation, the removal of some clothing, and paranoia. Officers said the man told them he was trying to hide from people who were chasing him, although no one was around.

The man was arraigned on criminal trespass charges in Stockbridge Town Court. Investigators said he has a long criminal history including the sale and possession of drugs.
