Police: Oneida man forcibly raped woman at knifepoint

ONEIDA, N.Y. (WKTV) - An Oneida man is facing charges after authorities say he forcibly raped a woman at knifepoint inside her own apartment.

According to Oneida Police, Phillip L. Jones, 31, of Oneida was arrested Saturday, August 22 and charged with first-degree rape and second-degree menacing.

Police say Jones arrived at the woman's apartment to pick up items belonging to another person when he displayed a knife and forcibly raped her.

He was arraigned and sent to the Madison County Jail in lieu of $25,000 cash bail or $50,000 bond.

He is scheduled to appear in court on September 28, 2012.
