Police: Woman with BAC of .31% crashes car into pole

UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) - A New Hartford woman is facing charges after authorities say she crashed her her car into a telephone pole in Utica and then fled the scene.

According to Utica Police, officers responded to the accident scene on Clinton Street around 2:30 a.m. on Monday. While they say the driver had fled the scene, they were given a description of the driver from witnesses and located the driver, Nicole Haas, 33 of New Hartford at Oneida Street and James Street.

The officer began interviewing her about the accident and became concerned that she may be under the influence of alcohol. Conducting a breathalyzer test, police say Haas was found to have a Blood Alcohol Content of .31%.

She was charged with leaving the scene of an accident, aggravated DWI and two counts of DWI.
