Police investigating bank robbery in the City of Rome

ROME, N.Y. (WKTV) - Police are currently investigating a bank robbery at the M&T Bank on Black River Boulevard in the City of Rome on Tuesday morning shortly before 11 a.m.

When officers arrived on the scene, they say they learned a lone individual had entered the bank and demanded money, then fleeing the scene with an undisclosed amount of cash.

The suspect was described as being dressed in a dark hooded jacket, dark blue or black pants and dark colored shoes. The suspect was last seen running on foot towards the rear of the Mohawk Acres Shopping Center on Black River Boulevard.

Authorities say no weapons were used or displayed by the suspect during the course of the robbery and no injuries occurred during the incident.
