UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) - Utica Police are investigating a stabbing that happened on the 1600 block of Howard Avenue early Friday morning.

UPD says they were called to break-up a fight around 12:45 a.m., and when they arrived on the scene, found a male and a female injured.

Police aren't releasing many details at this point, including identities. Both the male and female are being treated at local hospitals for non-life threatening injuries.

UPD says they don't think this was a random crime, because both the male and female knew each other.

Sgt. Steve Houck says they hope to release more information on the case soon.
