Police say cell phone causes accident

(WKTV) - A 22 year old Madison woman was injured after police say she was talking on her cell phone, causing her to lose control of her car. The car flipped over and ended up on its roof.

Oneida County Sheriff's investigators say 22 year old Sarah Poppke of Madison, was traveling northbound on State Route 26, in the Town of Vernon, Friday afternoon around 1:00 when she lost control of her vehicle due to cell phone use.

Poppke was transported to St. Elizabeth Medical Center. No word on her injuries.

Poppke will appear in Vernon Town Court later this week to face charges of using a cell phone while operating a motor vehicle and failure to reduce speed on a hill, curve or grade.
