Police seek information in New Hartford hit and run with stolen car

NEW HARTFORD, N.Y. (WKTV) - Police in New Hartford are looking for the public's help following a hit and run accident in the Applewood Community.

According to police, a man was driving northbound on Applewood Boulevard in a Red Nissan Altima when he lost control of the vehicle, crossed the grass median and struck a light pole. The vehicle sustained heavy damage, and the driver fled on foot.

Police say the driver is described as a white male, 5'5" tall with brown hair, brown eyes, last seen wearing a dark color shirt, jeans and a baseball cap. They say the vehicle he was driving had been stolen from a Whitestown resident.

Whitestown Police are assisting New Hartford Police with the investigation.
