Polls open for historic school merger vote in Herkimer County

ILION, N.Y.(WKTV) - The polls are now open to vote for the proposed merger between Frankfort-Schuyler, Herkimer, Mohawk, and Ilion school districts.

If all four school districts vote for the merger, there will be a binding referendum vote held on February 29.

If the vote is not unanimous, the proposal is dead.

Here is a list of the voting locations:

*Frankfort - Old gym at the high school.
*Herkimer - the high school media center.
*Mohawk- lobby of the high school.
*Ilion- Cafeteria of the high school.

Polls are open until 8 p.m. You do not have to be a registered to vote.
