Port Leyden man accused of sexually abusing minor

PORT LEYDEN, N.Y. (WKTV) - A Port Leyden man is facing charges after authorities say he subject a minor to sexual contact.

According to New York State Police, Daniel S. Rounds, 20, of Port Leyden has been charged with first-degree criminal sex act, first-degree sex abuse and endangering the welfare of a child.

Authorities say the charges stem from an incident that occurred at a residence on Church Street in Port Leyden during the month of September 2008. State Police said an investigation revealed that Rounds subjected a female under the age of 11 to sexual contact which included oral sexual conduct.

Rounds was arraigned in the Village of Lowville Court and was subsequently remanded to the Lewis County Correctional Facility in lieu of bail set at $5,000 cash or $10,000 bond.
