Police: Poughkeepsie resident found violating parole in Otsego County

WORCESTER, N.Y. (WKTV) - A former Poughkeepsie resident who was on New York State parole for grand larceny was arrested Friday afternoon at a relative’s residence on Hill Road in the Town of Worcester, according to police.

Authorities say 24-year-old Gary Paul Hricewich violated parole.

In October 2011, the New York State Division of Parole issued a warrant for Hricewich after he failed to comply with his conditions of parole.

Hricewich was sentenced to one to three years in 2009 out of the Dutchess County Court.

Friday, the Sheriff’s Office developed information that Hricewich was staying in the Town of Worcester.

Sheriff’s deputies and investigators, Otsego County probation officers and parole officers from the Utica Office located and arrested Hricewich on the parole warrant without incident.

Hricewich was taken to the Otsego County Correctional Facility where he is being held without bail on the warrant awaiting a parole hearing.
