Pre-schoolers lend a hand for Hurricane Sandy victims

UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) - Local nursery and pre-k students are doing their part to help children downstate impacted by Hurricane Sandy.

Children attending educational programs at the North Utica Senior Center collected blankets, clothing, and baby supplies to be donated to those people who need them most.

The executive director at the center says the children felt sorry for the victims and wanted to do something to help.

Yvonne McClusky said, " It's important to always care about younger people and that's something we try to teach them very young and we hope that is something that carries them into their teens years and adulthood and they are always thinking about other people."

Some of the children's parents have volunteered to drive the supplies down this weekend.
