(WKTV) - The wait is almost over for Little Falls residents who would like to grocery shop a little closer to home.
At 8:30 a.m. Tuesday, the new 30,000-square-foot Price Chopper will open its doors. The store features a deli, produce and bakery departments, as well as a florist and sandwich shop.
For those interested in checking out the store Monday, there will be a preview party from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Inside the store on Monday afternoon, the shelves were neatly stocked and waiting for the rush of people who have been without a local grocery store for almost 18 months.
"The people can't wait for us to open," said store manager William Blunt. "I've given personal tours for people who stop. They can't believe the transformation of the building from when it started to now."
The Big M, Little Falls former grocery store, closed in December 2012. Ground was broken on the new building nearly a year later.
