Probe into narcotics sale and distribution leads to arrest

(WKTV) - A Utica man was arrested after an investigation into the sale and distribution of narcotics, Utica Police said.

Stephen Schumaker, 57, of State Street, is charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the fifth degree, criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree and criminal possession of marijuana.

According to officials, on March 24 the UPD Metro Unit, assisted by the U.S. Marshal's Service and patrol division, executed a search warrant at a home on State Street. The warrant was part of an investigation into the sale and distribution of narcotics. As a result of the search, officers found cocaine and marijuana.
