Purchase offer on Bossert site in Utica

By WKTV News

UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) - Utica Mayor Robert Palmieri announces the Bossert's Manufacturing site along the North-South Arterial has been sold to James Ranalli, Owner and CEO of United Auto Supply.

Bossert Manufacturing closed down in 1985, the steel fabrication plant sat empty until it was demolished in 2002. Palmieri says Ranalli plans on building a 20,000 square foot retail facility in the space. Ranalli also hopes to attract other businesses to the site.

One of those clients might be Tracey Road Equipment, a leading construction equipment and truck dealership. Palmieri also says he has stressed to Ranalli the strong need for a grocery store in West Utica. Palmieri says he is confident Ranalli will bring one to the area.

Palmieri says now the Common Council has to approve the purchase offer.
