RCIL want to make sure tax filers get earned income tax credit

UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) - With the IRS starting to process tax returns on Wednesday, a local organization is making sure filers claiming the earned income tax credit get it right.

The Resource Center for Independent Living on Genesee Street in Utica is offering help to people in the lower income brackets. Last year, RCIL's program returned $2.4 million to members of the community, preparing close to 3,000 tax returns for free.

To see if you're eligible and to schedule an appointment, you can call RCIL at 315-272-1888. You have until April 15.

Help is available Tuesdays through Saturdays.
