Red Cross announces honorees for 15th Annual Real Heroes Breakfast

UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) - The American Red Cross is set to hold its 15th Annual Real Heroes Breakfast on June 4, but on Tuesday, announced the Mohawk Valley residents who are to be honored at the event.
The awards are given to individuals who have performed heroic acts in the past year across many different categories.
It is a way to recognize those residents for their commitment and compassion within the community.
"Its amazing how many of us know actual people in our every day lives performing these heroic acts," said Community Executive, Julie Darling. "Certainly we reach out to our fire departments and 911 and typical places, but there are unusual people who stumbled upon someone in a mall who needed assistance and saved their life."
The breakfast will start at 7:30 a.m. on June 4th, and will cost $25 to attend.\
The honorees are as follows:
Michael Cianfrocco Family Humanitarian of the Year Award - Lawerence T. Gilroy
Adult Good Samaritan Award - Dave Robinson
Animal Rescue Award - Jill Stafford
Fire Rescue Award - Utica Fire Captain Scott Ingersoll/Firefighter Fredderick Decarlo
911 Dispatch Award - Oneida County 911 (Theodore Achen, Joseph Baker, Brenda Dean, Melody Kalk, Joseph Moskala, Meredith Ricci, Regina Sege and Caitlin Traynor
Kurt Wyman Law Enforcement Award - Jim Fister
Military Award - Master Sgt. Bernie Jowers
Medical Award - Waterville Area Ambulance and Fire Departments
