Regional Rachel's Rally draws a crowd to first ever event

FRANKFORT, N.Y. (WKTV) - Local groups teamed up to host a special day-long event at the Frankfort-Schuyler Middle School/High School, Wednesday.

The Friends of Rachel Club, along with United Way, held the first ever Regional Rachel's Rally. With the help from the Mohawk Valley Regional Volunteer Center, through a grant, the organizations put together the event that included activities to help promote team-building, self-esteem building, and community community service.

The Rally also contained forums that aimed to open up dialogues regarding a cultural shift towards kindness and compassion between members of the participating schools.

It was expected that 200 students were to be present for the Rally, however, no exact number has been reported at this time.

The event began Wednesday morning at 9 a.m. and ran until 2 p.m.
