Repairs underway after September roof collapse at Historical Society
UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) - A ceiling collapse in September at the Oneida County Historical Society may have temporarily knocked some of their programs out of commission, but it won't be long before things return to normal.
Historical Society officials say April 16 is their first scheduled program under a new, repaired roof. It took five months for the society to make their way through clean-up, insurance, and contractor bidding. Heffron General Contracting in Oneida won the bid process and started repairs just last week. Artifacts had to be moved out of the main gallery, cleaned and put into storage following the roof collapse, where they will remain until the ceiling is fully repaired in the weeks to come. |
