Rescue Mission of Utica seeking help for permanent residents

(WKTV) - The Rescue Mission of Utica is seeking help for the 130 people in their residential program.

These people came to the mission homeless and rely on the mission for housing. The mission is asking the community to help provide them with a Christmas celebration by adopting a resident and providing a small gift.

"These are folks who live here who are our permanent residents," said Debi Kenyon of the Rescue Mission of Utica. "They may live here anywhere from one to 12 years. They are homeless and some have been diagnosed with a mental illness.

If you want to adopt a resident and donate a gift, call the Rescue Mission at (315) 735-1645.

The gifts will need to be donated by Wednesday morning at the latest.
