Rhode Island woman accused of possessing drugs while visiting Marcy Correctional inmate

MARCY, N.Y. (WKTV) - New York State Police say a Rhode Island woman has been charged after she allegedly was found to be in possession of drugs while visiting an inmate.

According to New York State Police, Jocelyn Vasquez, 34, of Woonsocket, Rhode Island has been charged with first-degree and second-degree promoting prison contraband, third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, and unlawful possession of marijuana.

Vasquez was arrested after she went to visit an inmate a Marcy Correctional Facility and was found to be in possession of heroin and marijuana.

She was arraigned in the Town of Floyd Court and was remanded to the Oneida County Jail on $25,000 bail.

The investigation was conducted by the NYSDOCCS Inspector Generals Office.
