UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) - A ribbon cutting was held at the Regional Cancer Center at the Faxton St. Lukes Sunset Avenue location to mark the opening of a new radiation department, Wednesday.
The event was also to dedicate the new center as the F.E. Romano Family Radiation Oncology Department.
A new CT scanner and treatment planning suite was also opened to help all cancer patients receive the best care possible.

"The machine we're using now allows us to treat people and to diagnose people to sub-millimeter accuracy," said Chief Medical Physicist, Paul Abbas. "It, in essence, helps us to administer a more precise treatment, so we can help spare healthy tissue much better."
