(WKTV) - A Richfield Springs man faces several charges after he allegedly hid in his estranged wife's car and held her at knife point, Ilion police say.
Cory J. Boepple, 48, of Langdon Avenue in Richfield Springs, is charged with aggravated criminal contempt, kidnapping in the second degree, assault in the second degree and criminal possession of a weapon in the fourth degree.
According to officials, Boepple allegedly hid in his estranged wife's car and waited for her to leave work. As she was driving toward her home, Boepple is accused of placing his arm around her from the backseat and holding her at knife point. The woman was able to get the attention of a witness, who called Ilion police.
Based on the car's last-known direction of travel, Mohawk police were notified. Mohawk and Ilion patrol cars were able to stop the car just past MOVAC on State Route 6S. Boepple was taken into custody without incident. The woman was transported by MOVAC to Little Falls Hospital.
Boepple was sent to Herkimer County Correctional Facility in lieu of $30,000 cash bail and $60,000 bond.
