Roads opening to traffic after flood repairs

ALBANY, N.Y. (WKTV)- The repair of roads damaged from this summer's flooding is moving forward.

Governor Andrew Cuomo's office announced, Wednesday, that one bridge and two roads that were undergoing repairs from the floods are now opened to traffic.

Route 80 is opened, after extensive work done to the bridge on Route 80 between Fort Plain and Minden. Also, Route 51 along the Ilion Gorge and Route 171 along the Frankfort Gorge are open as well.

“Since floods devastated the Mohawk Valley, I promised the State would be there to help affected communities recover and return to normal,” Cuomo said. “Today, our transportation system is once again safe for motorists and mobility has been restored through the region, and we are one step closer to bringing these communities back.”
