Robbery suspect taken into custody after overnight search

ROME, N.Y. (WKTV) - Oneida County Sheriff's Department brought robbery suspect, Daniel C. O'Brien, 21, into custody, Saturday.

After an overnight search for the Rome man came to a close today at approximately 4:20 p.m., when he was arrested in Barnhards Bay, according to Oneida County Sheriff Robert Maciol.

The search for O'Brien began Friday evening, after he and his girlfriend were involved in a domestic dispute in the Vernon/Verona area.

According to officials, O'Brien forced his girlfriend and her 18-month old baby to go to the bank, following the dispute, to withdraw an undisclosed amount of money, from which he took from them before fleeing.

O'Brien is being charged for Robbery in the 3rd Degree, a Felony, in front of Judge Glen at New York Mills Court and committed to the Oneida County Jail on $25,000 cash bail.
