Rome Police Department swears in eight new officers

(WKTV) - The Rome Police Department swore in eight new police officers Thursday at Rome City Hall.

Detective Commander Tim Bates was also promoted to captain.

The new officers are part of the largest class in recent memory, and represent 10 percent of the total workforce at the department.

Those pictured, from left to right, include: Patrol Officer Thomas Furlong; Patrol Officer Josef Hall; Patrol Officer Joseph Pruckno; Patrol Officer Ryan Crever; Chief of Police Kevin Beach; Patrol officer James Bristol; Patrol Officer Alexzandra Carletta; Patrol Officer Alexander Fratini; Patrol Officer Eric Stevens and Capt. Timothy Bates.
