Rome Police investigate child's death

ROME, N.Y. (WKTV) - Investigators with the Rome Police Department say they are investigating the death of an 11 month old girl.

Police said that at roughly 7 a.m. on Tuesday, April 17, Rome Police, Rome Fire Department and Amcare Ambulance responded to an address on River Street about a report of an unresponsive child.

The girl was rushed to Rome Hospital where she was pronounced dead, police said.

Few details are being released at this time. Police are continuing their investigations and expect to release more information on Wednesday, April 18.

The identity of the child is not being released at this time.
