Rome business holds Hurricane Sandy relief effort

ROME, N.Y. (WKTV) - The local relief effort for Hurricane Sandy victims continued Saturday in Rome.

The owner of Complete Canine Resort and Spa says as soon as she saw the news reports coming out of New York City, New Jersey and Connecticut more than two weeks ago, she knew she had to help.

Owner Paula Carr said, "when i saw that these people were without homes, without food, without water, this area was lucky enough not to get hit, so i had my trainers and we got together and for weeks now we've been collecting food items, clothing, things like that."

Carr says that on Tuesday she will drive all of the items collected down to Staten Island where she's has been in contact with people who can distribute the goods to those who need them.
