ROME, N.Y. (WKTV) - 17 year old Carmann Benedetto of Rome has been involved in cheerleading since she was 3 years old.

Later this month she will be performing a solo routine in front of thousands, and many millions will be watching on live television.

Benedetto has been chosen to take part in a national cheerleading competition during the NFL Pro-Bowl in Honolulu.

We caught up with Carmann on Saturday as she practiced her routine at the North Star Gym on Turin Rd. in Rome.   She says she is looking forward to competing, "I'm doing a competition the Tuesday I get there.  I'm competing for scholarship money in an individual routine that I've been working on the past few months."

Fundraisers have been held to help pay for the trip.

The NFL Pro Bowl is set for Sunday, January 26th.
