Rome couple reunites found dog with owner

By WKTV News

ROME, N.Y. (WKTV) - A Rome couple that had a pug dog show up at their home on Thursday say that the dog has now been reunited with its owner, thanks to help from the public.

The light beige pug, with a black face turned up on the doorstep of a couple on Sam Street in the City of Rome on Thursday morning. The dog had a license that was at least two year old, the couple said. They took the dog to a veterinarian in the hopes the dog had been microchipped, but they were not.

The dog is an non-neutered male pug and his two front feet turn completely outward when he stands, the couple said, in the hopes it might have been a trait that helps distinguish it to the owners.

The couple reported that word had quickly spread and with the help of the public, the owners of the dog got in touch with them. The dog has since been reunited with its rightful owner.

We thank the public and our viewers for all their help in making this happen.
