Rome faces felony marijuana possession charge

(WKTV) - A Rome man is accused of possessing more than a pound of marijuana, New York State Police said.

Niko S. Scerra, 24, is charged with felony criminal possession of marijuana in the second degree.

Scerra, who was arrested Friday, on D'Angelo Avenue in the City of Rome, allegedly had more than one pound of marijuana, a scale and packaging material.

Scerra was arraigned before the City of Rome Court and was released on $7,500 bail.

New York State Police Community Narcotics Enforcement Team executed the search warrant and were assisted by New York State Police Special Operations Response Team and Troop D personnel.

The investigation is continuing and more charges are pending.
