(WKTV) - A 20-year-old Rome man was arrested Tuesday on a sex charge, just five months after he was convicted of sexual abuse, the Oneida County Child Advocacy Center said.

Nori Powell, 20, of Rome is charged with disseminating indecent material in the first degree.

According to officials, Powell engaged in an online sexual relationship with a child under the age of 17. In November, Powell was convicted in Oneida County Court for sexual abuse in the second degree. For that offense, Powell was sentenced to time served and six years of probation supervision.

Powell was sent to the Oneida County Correctional Facility in lieu of $50,000 bail.

The case was investigated by Oneida County Sheriff's Investigator Dan Brown and New York State Police Investigator Todd Grant, who are both assigned to the Child Advocacy Center.
