By WKTV News

A Rome man was arrested Sunday after a reported domestic dispute in the Town of Lee, Oneida County Sheriff officials said.

Shane L. Carelli, 42, of Rome was arrested after he kicked in a door to get inside an ex-girlfriend's home in Lee, Sheriff Maciol said. Carelli's ex-girlfriend had an active court order issued by Oneida County Court against Carelli, officials say.

Carelli then left the residence after the ex-girlfriend locked herself in a bathroom and called for help. Carelli was stopped in Rome a short time later by sheriff's deputies.

Carelli, who is also on parole in New York, was charged with felony aggravated criminal contempt and a misdemeanor charge of criminal mischief.

Carelli was arraigned in the Town of Floyd Court, where he was ordered held without bail. He was returned to court in the Town of Lee on Wednesday, where he continues to be held without bail.
